Cameron Green is the “long -term option” of playing number three for Australia, Pat Cummins said after the captain appointed his team for the opening test on Wednesday against the West Indian Islands in Barbados.
Green only achieved four runs this month and was only five balls in the final of the world test championship against South Africa after increasing in the autumn of the first wind.

But Cummins said reporters in Barbados that Green would keep his place in the cherery, with Josh Inglis in fourth place, while Steve Smith recovers a finger injury.
“We don’t always want to have too many moving parts,” said Cummins.
“We see (green around three) as a long -term option. He beats the ball really well.
“He had a test match with which it couldn’t plan. The message should not examine too much.
“We are very satisfied with his game and I dare to say that he will get number three a decent run.”
The 19-year-old 19-year-old Sam Konstas is opened together with Usman Khawaja after it was previously announced that Marnus Labuschagne had been dropped.

“Sammy is obviously an opener and the available place for Josh this week is in fourth place,” added Cummins.
Australia retained the same bowling attack that played in the defeat against South Africa, with only one specialist in Nathan Lyon.
“We don’t really know what to expect, but it feels like the three quicks are more suitable for this wind,” said Fast Bowler Cummins.
“I think it will be a pretty good wind with maybe a little rotation later in the game, (but) I honestly have no idea.”
– New captain –
A new look West Indies will also face three fast bowlers in Shamar Joseph, Alzarri Joseph and Jayden Seales.

Roston Chase, who replaced Kraigg Brathwaite as captain and will play his first test for more than two years, has two spinners available.
Chase said he hoped that the visitors were “still injured” by Shamar Joseph’s seven-wicked transport in their shock victory at Brisbanes Gabba in January 2024.
“I hope there are some scars,” Chase told reporters.
The new red ball coach Darren Sammy completely overtook the Spielmann.
The West Indies team contains only four players from the eight-run win at the Gabba and only three survivors from their last test against Pakistan in January.

Explosive Twenty20-Schlagmann Brandon King will give his test debut, and the white captain Shai Hope returns to the longest format for the first time in 2021.

“It is a new era and a fresh start and a new World Test Championship cycle,” said Chase.
