The experienced news moderator Dermot Murnaghan has announced that he lives with level 4 prostate cancer.
The broadcaster, which anchored large bulletins for Sky News from 2007 until his departure in early 2023, shared the diagnosis in a personal message and promoted an event for the fundraising of cancer.
The 66 -year -old Murnaghan organized a respected career on British television after presenting himself in BBC News, Channel 4 and ITN.
From 2003 to 2014 he also landed the long -time BBC Quiz Show Eggeads before he was replaced by Jeremy Vine.
On Monday, the 67-year-old announced on social media: “Some personal news ……
“For me, Fortune Cancer in stage IV was diagnosed that a simple outstanding medical team that I cannot thank enough administered the best possible care with specialist knowledge, compassion and sensitivity.”
He continued: “I react positively to their excellent treatment and feel good. I am blessed by being attached to my wife, my family and my close friends by monumental love and support.
“Unnecessary to mention that my message to all men over 50, in high risk groups or with symptoms is to test themselves and test a campaign for routine prostate screening through the NHS.”

Despite his diagnosis, Murnaghan said that he was still determined to take part in Sir Chris Hoy’s upcoming charity trip in Glasgow in September.
He asked his supporters to support the matter that collects donations for cancer research and support services.
Sir Chris, 49, also announced last year that he was diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer and had received a forecast of two to four years.
He was born in Devon and started as a trainee reporter in local newspapers before he came to Channel 4 as a researcher. Soon he stepped in front of the camera, reported for the business program and later presented segments on the daily channel 4, which finally made the main anchor.
