The Albanian government and airlines warn passengers in Australia about flight delays and disorders after the Iranian strike on a US basis in Qatar led to several countries close their airspace.
In a post for X on Tuesday morning, Foreign Minister Penny Wong said that there were “disorders of flights with temporary air space closings in the region”.
“The closure of the airspace around transit strings can affect the global flights and cause delays and cancellations,” she said.

“Australians who travel should update their airlines and follow smart tavel.”
In a statement, Qantas said that two flights – one to Great Britain and one to Europe – diverted it to Australia with the latter on the way back.
“Due to airspace closures and overloads by the Middle East, which leads to air traffic restrictions, QF9 (Perth-London) was redirected to Singapore and QF33 (Perth-Paris) returns to Perth,” says the explanation.
“We continue to monitor the availability of airspace and will change our schedule as required. We thank our customers for their patience and understanding.”
Virgin Australia warned the passengers who had distracted flights VA1 and VA15, which were operated by Qatar Airways for Virgin Australia after Katar was temporarily closed.
However, the Qatarian civil aviation authority has reopened the country’s airspace, whereby the agency returns to X after things would return in accordance with a translation “necessary measures in coordination with the relevant authorities”.
“The authority praises the great cooperation that all partners and the efforts of all state companies have shown to ensure the safety of aviation in the Qatar airroom.”
However, according to the ABC, some passengers chose the disembarkation of flights instead of their travel plans, including at Melbourne Airport.
The airport warned the passengers on Tuesday morning that there may be delays or disorders to “travel through the Middle East today”.
“Please inquire about your airline about updates for your flight departure,” the airline published on X.
