The surprising personality traits that you may have when you are a vegetarian

NO? Now, according to a recently carried out study by SWPS University in Warsaw, Poland, this distinguishes exactly the vegetables from their carnivors.

The research, which evaluated the values ​​of more than 3,500 adults in Poland and the USA, came to the conclusion that vegetarians are interested in being considered successful and prioritizing stimulation, performance and power.

Professor John Nezlek, who headed the study, said: “There is this long connection between meat and masculinity. It is far more common for women to take over vegetarianism than men, and there are three main reasons for becoming vegetarians: health, environment and animal aid ethics.

“If you stack all of this together, you could start believing that vegetarians are more benevolent, a little less assertive, generally more” surrounding “people – but I found the opposite.”

Ultimately, the study came from its findings that after a vegetarian nutrition “a manifestation of values ​​represents that emphasize independence and individuality, an option that contradicts the often discussed vegetarianism.”

This is not the first time that experts examined the personality traits of vegetarians.

In 2023, a review of 15 studies examined the differences in character between vegans and omnivores as well as vegans and vegetarians. The experts found that the vegans focused much more on openness and tolerance.

It also pointed to a study by Christian Kessler from 2016, in which the conclusion came to the fact that vegans had higher values ​​for physical, psychological and social quality of life.

They also achieved neuroticism and openness higher and had a higher level of empathy than vegetarians.

According to Vegetarian Society UK, 4.5% of the British population are either vegan or vegetarian, with more than 3 million people follow these diets.

The meat meal settings also shifted, and people ate 17% less meat than in 2008 in 2019. In 2020, consumers also spent around 600 million pounds for meat -free food.
