The use of airline employees as immigration officers is nothing new

In her report (the airline’s staff is being trained to train people without a visa from flights to Great Britain, June 20), it is worth mentioning that this has been lasting for over 30 years. Immigration officers travel to overseas at the invitation of the airlines to train their check-in employees in visa requirements and to recognize the recognition of fellow gaps.

I was involved in Gatwick in the 1990s and traveled to Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Tanzania, Egypt, Iraq and Thailand, among other things. The airlines requested the training and provided flights and accommodations. The training was free of charge, without costs for the public handbag.

The visit to Cairo was particularly remarkable when we took a briefcase full of fake passes to show the airline staff. On our departure, the briefcase at Cairo Airport was opened by “security”, the content examined and then closed without further interest. Of course, we also met official documents why we wore fake passes, but nobody ever asked to see them.
